Dear Grandma,

I'm so sorry that I didn't come sooner and that I didn't call more after daddy died. I should have done these and so many more things differently. I can't change all that now but, what I can do is move on and know that you are forever with me and the kids in everything we do. Everyone was with you I know you know that. It was a hard night for us all, a long one too. I'm so pleased that we all got to be with you in that final moment. So much of how you went reminds me of daddy. It was all so familiar to me. I know this may all sound so selfish to most but, to me it's very real and hard. We lost him way too soon and losing you so soon after just made it more painful and unreal. I still can't believe your both gone now. I still find myself wanting to call you, wanting to tell you what's been going on with us and to hear you ask me why I haven't called in a while. The memories are both a blessing and a curse to me. I know it may sound strange but, that's just how it is. I'm sorry there wasn't more people at your funeral but, you were always the one to handle those things. We did the best we could in the short time we had. I hope you were pleased with everything. Everyone is doing ok, as best we can be. Trying to move on with our lives the only way we know how. I hope you had a joyful reunion with daddy, great grandma, aunt lill, grandpa and so many more. I hope you told daddy hi for me and the kids. I hope he knows that we have thought about him everyday since he's been gone. Tell aunt lill and grandma I miss them terribly too. The family and the holidays will never be the same now. We will make the best of it though because we know it's what you all would want. Don't worry about us down here ok, you be happy up there and keep us a place ok, we will see you all again one day.Oh, what a day that will be.

With all my love,
Valerie
