Emmalee Paytlin Mizell

A Celebration of Life Service for Emmalee Paytlin Mizell is set for 1pm Monday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Warren Jones officiating, her husband and mother will be doing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Rienzi Cemetery.

A Family and Friends Gathering will be Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 and Monday from 11:00am to service time.

Emmalee died August 25, 2026 in Barton, AL from injuries received in a motor vehicle collision. She was born on October 19, 1999 in Corinth, MS to Josh and Christie Hite. She was a 2017 graduate of Biggersville High School and then from Northeast MS Community College with a nursing degree.

Emmalee was a member of the Northeast Color Guard for the Tiger Band. Over the years, she worked as an RN at Magnolia Regional Health Center and more recently at the Colbert Co. Jail as their Nurse Administrator. She enjoyed painting, drawing, cooking, baking her cakes, music, and had started collecting vinyl albums.

She was preceded in death by her father, Josh Hite; paternal grandfather, Nelson Moore; material great grandmother, Jean Guy; and brother-in-law, Matthew Locke.

She is survived by her husband, Nathan Mizell; mother and step-father, Christie Burnett (Bill); sister, Patience Hite (Payne Tomlinson); brother, Pierson Hite; step-sisters and brothers, Anna Clare Burnett, Noah Burnett (Jazzy), Leah Burnett and Zeke Burnett; maternal grandparents, Donny Nixon (Tina) and Debbie Nixon (David); paternal grandmother, Marilyn Moore; great paternal grandparents, Hayward Hite (Sue); Great maternal grandparents, Davis and Nancy Fawcett; aunts and uncles, Stacy Cook (Kevin), Jamie Nixon (Danielle) and Dalton Nixon; cousins, Alex Hite, Easton Nixon, Emma Nixon, and Myla Nixon; mother-in-law, Lee Locke (Kevin); father-in-law, Mark Mizell; sister and brothers-in-law, Jessika Mizell, Bobby Locke (Lauryn), Autumn Phillips (Joseph), and Jake Benson (Melanie); and a host of other family and friends.
