Grace Johnson

A Celebration of Life Service for Grace Rowland Johnson, 91, is set for 4:00 pm Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home with Minster Kenny James officiating. Burial will follow in the State Line Cemetery.

Family and friends gathering will be Saturday from 2:00 pm to service time.

Grace died August 15, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born July 16, 1933 in Tippah Co. to the late David Lee Rowland and Lela Davis Rowland. She attended school at Chalybeate and was a member of Walnut Church of Christ. She was a Christian mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and a homemaker. She enjoyed working in her garden and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, C.F. Johnson; parents; son-in-law, Gary Boyd; brothers, Thurman Rowland, Ellie Hugh Rowland and Kenneth Rowland, James Rowland; sister, Jewel Abbott.

She is survived by her son, Larry Johnson (Jane Ann); daughters, Susan Boyd and Jan Webster (Phil); sister, Jane Huff (Graham); grandchildren, Robin Hulen (Kevin), Leslie Kizer (Jared), Lindsay Cardwell (Shane), and Haley Winter (Kevin), Steve Johnson; great-grandchildren, Carson Kizer, Owen Kizer, Landon Johnson, Seth Hulen, Sawyer Cardwell, Brooks Cardwell, Hudson Winter, Jake Winter, Anders Winter, Anslee Hulen, and Brynn Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends; and Special caregivers, Dianne Flake, Dollie Burke, Carley and the Gentiva Hospice Staff.

Pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren and grandchildren.

Contributions in Grace's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
