Celebration of Life Service for James “Jim Whit” Rinehart 91, is set for 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors. Burial will be in the New Hope Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Jim Whit died May 17, 2017 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born May 12, 1926 in Alcorn Co. to the late Mauldin and Mae Rinehart. He was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, served in the US Navy during WWII. He was retired farmer and also the Alcorn Co. Third District. Jim Whit was a man who didn’t have any bad word to say about anyone, he was dedicated to God, family and his country.
Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Maxine Clifton and Elizabeth Mayreen Atkins.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years Mary Opal Rinehart; nephews, Steven Atkins, William Tom (Enrica James) Atkins; great nephew, Bill Atkins: stepchildren, Sherry (Perry) Dickey, Gary (Robbie) Knight; step grandchildren Chris Knight, Josh (Toni) Dickey, Jordan (Jessica) Dickey; host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers Gary Knight, Perry Dickey, Bert Mills, Larry Hudson, Steven Atkins, Chris Knight, Josh Dickey, Jordan Dickey, Phillip Brawner.
Honorary Gerald Monroe.
Family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 and Saturday from 12:00 to service time at the funeral home.
