

A Celebration of Life Service for James “Jimmy” Brawner is set for 2:00 pm Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home with John Dodd and Billy Bearden officiating. Burial will follow in the Henry Cemetery. A Family and friends Gathering will be Saturday from 5:00 to 7:00 and Sunday from 12:30 pm to service.
Jimmy died January 24, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. He was born March 11, 1961 in Corinth, MS to the late James “Doc” and Grace Dexter Brawner. He was a member of Foote Street Church of Christ. Jimmy was a 1979 graduate of Alcorn Central High School. He was best known for having owned Southern Sound in the early 80’s until it closed. He co-owned Corinth Auto Sales and recently worked for Big A Auto Sales. He was known as Jimmy “The King” Brawner to his many customers and friends thought out the years. He enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Barbara; special uncle, D. Daniel Dexter; several other aunts and uncles; and good friend, Norman Borden.
He is survived by his special families, Tim and Joan Hardwick, Amanda Borden (Chad), Zach Hardwick, Lucas Bumpas, Edge Borden Kinley Hardwick, Larry and Michelle Doran, Erica Hill (Cody), Kyle Doran, Blake Doran, Amzie Hill, Lofton Hill, Brewer Hill, Fuller Hill; several cousins; and other family and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jeff South, Clint Mauney, Todd Barker, Bobby Burns, Tommy Case, Dal Nelms, Marty Austin, and Mark Austin.
