Louise Bass McCarter passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Dogwood Assisted Living Center in Corinth, Mississippi. There will be a Celebration of Life Service held in her honor, January 5, 2023 at McPeters Funeral Directors Inc. at two o'clock in the afternoon. Visitation for friends will begin at twelve o'clock noon until service time.
Mrs. McCarter was born Friday July 31, 1931 to the late Charles and Ossa Bass. At the tender age of fourteen she met her true love and husband of 76 years, Gilbert "Sonny" McCarter. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and sons, Wayne McCarter and David McCarter.
Mrs. McCarter is survived by her husband, Sonny McCarter; daughter, Kristi Lane; son, Gary McCarter (Marty); daughter-in-law, Carol McCarter; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bert McCarter, Gary McCarter II, Steven McCarter, Jordan Bonds, Blake Cain, and Chris Montagnini.
