

Funeral services for Madge Irene Jobe Wilkinson, 101, of Corinth, are set for 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 3, 2011 at the Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Bro. Jimmy Glover and Bro. Ray Bennett officiating. Burial will be in the Wheeler Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilkinson died on Friday, July 1, 2011 at the home of her son. She was born at home, and the baby of six children, on Tuesday, July 20, 1909 to the late William Falls and Sarah Madden Jobe.
She graduated from Alcorn Countyl Agricultural High School on April 16, 1928. After her graduation, she began working in the Alcorn County Chancery Clerk's office for her uncle, Mr. Bill Madden, Mr. John Thomas Wilbanks, her cousin, Mr. Herman Madden and retired while Mr. W.O. "Shorty" Potts was in office. From the courthouse, she worked at the Corinth Credit Bureau until her second retirement. She was a lifelong member of the Shady Grove United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilkinson was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Bilbo Wilkinson; her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Brawner Wilkinson; two brothers, Lucian Lafayette "Bud" Jobe and his wife Bernice and William Wesley Jobe and his wife Dee; three sisters, Maybelle Jobe, Cleo Jobe McClary and husband W.B. "Boss", and Leo Milton; three nephews, Billy Fred and Jerry Jobe and Joe McClary; and one niece, Maxine Rencher.
She is survived by her son, James C. "Jimbo" Wilkinson and wife Debora; three grandchildren, Robin Johnson and husband Brian of Burnsville, Ben Wilkinson of Jackson, TN, and Amy Wilkinson of Corinth; three great-grandchildren, Bethany Johnson, Ali Grace Johnson and Billy Johnson all of Burnsville; three nieces, Frances, Joe Kate and Margie Jobe; three special care-givers, Deborah Walker, Maxine Howard and Shirley Blankenship.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 2, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Home and on Sunday July 3, 2011 from 1:30 P.M. till service time at the church.
