October 8, 1941 – September 6, 2020
Nancy Little Alexander, 78, passed away at her home in Corinth on Sunday, September 6, 2020, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was surrounded by her family.
Nancy was born on October 8, 1941, in Ashland, MS, and grew up in Laurel. She was an outstanding student at George S. Gardiner High School and at the University of Mississippi. She spent most of her adult life caring for others; first as a medical technologist and later, as a mother, daughter, grandmother, and wife.
She was married to Irl Thomas Alexander, Junior, on December 23, 1962, and together they raised four daughters. After caring for her mother, Mabel Little, during her own battle with Alzheimer’s, Nancy worked with her husband, Tommy, at his medical clinic in Corinth.
Nancy Alexander is survived by her husband of 57 years, Tommy; her four daughters, Kimberly Dawn Alexander, Deborah Alexander Baugus (Mike), Dana Alexander Laurie (Matt), and Dyana Alexander Gates (Kenny); and seven grandchildren: Alexander Leigh Byrd, Kaleb Scott Byrd, Michael Taylor Baugus, Aiden Thomas Laurie, Ashlyn Kathleen Laurie, Jordan Grace Gates, and Madison Claire Gates. Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Little, her brother, Troy, and a niece, Heather.
Nancy shared a love of gardening with her mother and her daughters. She and Tommy loved to travel and enthusiastically attended sporting events for both Corinth High School and Ole Miss often traveling great distances to do so.
The burial was a private one at Henry Cemetery on September 8.
The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Dr. Tommy, Dawn , Debra ,Dana , and Dianna, I just saw where your mom passed away. I am so sorry . I really liked Nancy. We grew up next door to your family. Jimmy and Shane use to play with Dawn and Debra when they were all little. God bless all of you in this time of loss. Erlene Valdejo Harvell.

I am so sorry for your family's loss. Nancy was such a sweet person and I always enjoyed being around her whether it was an appointment at the office or on a fun trip that Jesse and I and other couples had taken with she and Tommy. She will be missed.
