Nonie Sue Martin

Nonie Sue Coleman Martin, age 91, died at home on March 2, 2015. She was born December 6, 1923, to the late Lillian Burns Coleman & Jessie Box "Boy" Coleman. She was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Brooks Walker Martin. She loved, and was adored by, her four children and their spouses: Danny Martin & Pam, Mike Martin & Suzanne, Cathy Martin Robertson & Don, and Jack Martin & Sherri, as well as her grandchildren (and great grandchildren): Patrick Martin & Martha (Wyatt, Daisy, & Walker), Mary Elizabeth Martin, Zachary Robertson, Ricky Smith & Dawn (McKenna & Ketcher), Summer Dougan & Zach (Kai). She is also survived by one brother, Hugh Baby Coleman (Frances) and many nieces & nephews.

Nonie Sue was known far and wide for being an excellent cook. She was very involved in the Alcorn County Extension Service and Homemakers' Club, 4-H, and Freed-Hardeman Associates. She loved people and also loved her job as a teller at BancorpSouth. She was an active member of Theo Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on Friday night, March 6, from 5-8 p.m., with a visitation preceding the funeral service on March 7 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Theo Church of Christ, Highway 72 West. The funeral service & celebration of life will start at 2:00 p.m. at the church.
