I grew up knowing Pearl as Aunt Pearl, but we were not blood related. She was a beautiful loving person. She was our neighbor when I was young. She helped raise her nieces and nephew. Her niece Joyce and I were best friends from the time we were about two years old or younger. I can remember when Aunt Pearl's sweet daughter Nellie Jane was born. I am very fortunate to have known Aunt Pearl. Her name fit her well because she was a beautiful Pearl. Jamey Gilton Holtzclaw
