Ms. Carter died January 7, 2013 at Southern Magnolia Estates in Golden, MS. She was born on August 28, 1932 in Booneville, MS to the late Erit Herman and Vera Mason Burns. She was a retired graduate of Corinth High School, Blue Mountain College, University of Mississippi and a Specialist in Elementary Education, having taught for 22 years in the Alcorn Co. School System. She was a member of Harper Rd. Christian Church.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Jimmy, Lamar, Hugh, and Buckshot Burns; and a nephew, David Burns.
Ms. Carter is survived by four nieces, Barbara Goggins, Sherry Mace, Kathy Foster, Christy Cooper; one nephew Keith Linsley; and a host of extended family and friends.
