Robert Gerald Dowd

Funeral service for Robert Gerald Dowd, 91, is set for 1:00 pm Friday at McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors with Bro. Jon Haimes officiating. Burial will follow in the Johns Cemetery.

Gerald died October 28, 2021 27, 2021 at MS Care Center. He was born July 18, 1930 in Glen, MS to the late Millard and Nannie Dowd. He was member of the Glendale Baptist Church, where taught Sunday school and was the song leader. He was retired from Corinth Gas and Water.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Dowd; second wife, Geneva Dowd; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Patricia Dowd; parents; and a brother, Julian Dowd.

He is survived by his daughter, Charlotte South (Donnie); grandchildren, Amy South, Tammy South, Tamara Lucero, Mason Dowd, Randal Dowd and Jenny Dowd; several great grandchildren; his extended step-family.

Pallbearers will be Frank Johnson, W. L. Clayton, Mason Dowd, Randal Dowd, Rodney Jeter, and Robert Strickland.

Honorary pallbearers will Willard Strachan, Kenneth Strachan, Harold Strachan, Bill Strickland and Jimmy Strickland.
