Robert Purvis Jr.

Mr. Purvis died on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born on August 17, 1926 to the late Robert Sr. and Leita Butler Purvis. He was a retired welder from Corinth Machinery with over 38 years of service, former co-owner of Corinth Sawmill Parts with his brother and of the Christian faith.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Kathleen Joan Rogers Purvis; three sisters, Mildred Wood, Janice Mills, and Clara Alice Purvis; and two brothers, Jack and Tommy Purvis.

Survivors include one son, Robert “Bobby” Purvis III and his wife Cheryl; one daughter, Susan Marie Roberts and husband Mike; one brother, Jimmy Purvis and wife Marie; six grandchildren, Robert Purvis IV, Leslie Tally and husband Russ, Mikki Gilliland and husband Mark, Casey Roberts and wife Laura, and Jarrett Roberts and wife Sara; three great-grandchildren, Ellie and Stella Roberts and Avery Gilliland and was to be blessed by two more very soon, Jaxson Michael Roberts and Ambree Kathleen Tally; one brother-in-law, H.S. Mills; two sisters-in-law, Sue and Romona Purvis; and a special caretaker, Linda Rencher.
