Sammye Brawner Williams

Funeral Services celebrating the life of Sammye Brawner Williams will be 11am on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at New Hope Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Sammye passed away, January 17, 2026, at Dogwood Assisted Living. She was born October 1, 1940, to the late Sanford and Cora Brawner. Sammye was a 1957 graduate of Biggersville High School.

Known for her wonderful cooking, Sammye never used measurements. Her kitchen was a place where love was measured in laughter and shared with anyone who walked through the door. She filled her home with welcoming hospitality, always ready to invite friends and family to gather, eat, and enjoy each other’s company. Sammye was a lady that was full of laughter and joy, a woman who treasured time with her family and the memories made around the table.

In addition to her parents, Sammye was preceded in death by her husband, Willard WIlliams; son, Steven Williams; daughter, Valerie James; brothers, James William Brawner (Doris) , Carroll Brawner, and Don Brawner (JoAnn); sisters, Mary Jane Green (Lloyd), Linda McNair, and Sue McDaniel (Bobby).

Sammye is survived by her daughter, Dianne Lambert (Randy); grandchildren, Anna Carlisle (Allen), Jesse James (Tanna), and Abby Smith (Slater); great grandchildren, Hayes Carlisle, Cora Carlisle, Catherine Smith, and Lily Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
