Funeral services for SSG William Seth Ricketts will be on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 12:00 P.M. at the Crossroads Arena in Corinth with burial to follow in the Corinth National Cemetery with full Military Honors
SSG Ricketts died Feb 27, 2010 at Bala Murghab, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire. He was born on July 21, 1982 to William Craig and Sandi Hearn Ricketts. He wanted to be in the military since he was 9-years-old and on Sept. 12, 2001, he joined the U.S. Army. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C. After completing basic training at Fort Benning, Ga., he immediately entered paratrooper training at Fort Bragg, and was stationed there throughout his entire military service.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his wife, Rose Jones Ricketts; two children, William Aiden and Oliver Cullen and a child due in September; one sister, Tiffany Steed; one brother, Ben Ricketts; grandparents, Bill and Frankie Ricketts; father and mother-in-law, Bro. and Mrs. Warren Jones; two sisters-in-law, Katie Jones Davis and her husband Eddron and Sallie Jones; one brother-in-law, John Stuart Jones; grandmother, Carolyn Wagnon; four nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 7 beginning at 5:00 P.M. There will be no visitation prior to his service on Monday. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of his arrangements.
