Steve worked several years for John George at the cross tie plant, farming, and building small storage buildings. He was also a self taught mechanic, owning a lawn mower and small engine repair shop at his home. From there he later moved into the old Michie Amoco, where he was able to expand his shop to not only repair engines but to sale and repair tires.
Along with his parents; he was preceded in death by one sister, Darlene.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Burks English; one daughter, Stephanie Wilson and husband George; one brother, Tracy English; one sister, Rosemary Jeter and husband Robert; three grandchildren, Ronald, Erin, and Josh; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
