

Steven Masoud “Moe” Madjlesi died surrounded by his family after a brief illness on June 20, 2021.
Moe was born and raised in Tehran. He graduated from the Iranian Institute of Technology and worked in the thermodynamics lab at the Arya-Mehr University of Technology. Moe moved to the US in 1972 to attend college, where he met Debbie, his wife of over 45 years. He graduated from the University of Memphis in 1976 with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He enjoyed a long career in engineering, most recently serving as Facilities Manager for Northrop Grumman in Iuka, MS. He spent his entire life pursuing excellence, but what he excelled at most was being a father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ali and Fatima Madjlesi, his brothers Jalal, Mehdi, and Mohammed, and his sister Mehri.
He is survived by his loving wife Debbie and four adoring daughters, Sarah Bynum (Ward), Rachel Madjlesi (Dennis Brenhaug), Elizabeth Madjlesi (Jeff Hunt), and Amy Madjlesi (Trey Crews). He is also survived by his beloved sister Mahine, niece Kathy Whitehead (Dave), and their daughters Natalie and Norah as well as his special nieces Mina and Mojgan Madjlesi. He was blessed with four grandsons, who also survive him: Samuel Bryant Walker, Henry James Brenhaug, James Ward Bynum IV, and Brooks Andrew Bynum. Moe also leaves behind many close friends and colleagues.
Services will be held on Friday, June 25 at the First Presbyterian Church in Corinth, MS. The family will receive visitors in the fellowship hall from 1:00pm to 2:45pm, followed by a memorial in the sanctuary with Dr. Don Elliott officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
