Tommie Rafidi

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Tommie Rhea Green Rafidi, 84, is set for 11:00 am Saturday at St. James the Less Catholic Church with Father Mario Solarzano officiating. Burial will follow the Dogwood Cemetery.

Family and Friends Gathering will be Saturday from 10:00 to Service time at the church.

Tommie died Thursday, October 3, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born October 1, 1940, in Bastrop, LA to the late Thomas and Johnie Green. She was a graduate of University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette with a degree in Education. There she met her husband, Abe, and they married shortly after graduation in 1962. They had two children, Ray and Leslie, and the family moved to Corinth in 1965. She was retired from the Corinth School District after 29 years as the School Librarian. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ibrahim “Abe’ Rafidi; parents; and sister, Jennie Kate Mendoza.

She is survived by her son, Ray Rafidi (Joanne); daughter, Lesie Rafidi Crawford (Stewart); grandchildren, Kaitlyn Crawford Weatherford (Greg), Michael Rafidi, Nicole Rafidi, and Chase Crawford; sister, Elizabeth Ferguson; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers are Michael Rafidi, Chase Crawford, Greg Weatherford, Steve Richardson, Usama Awwrd, and Samer Rafidi.
