William "Bill" Shuman

William “Bill” Shuman, 87, died Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Magnolia Regional Health Care Center. Funeral Services for Mr. Shuman will be Friday, October14, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at McPeters Chapel with Rev. Dennis Smith officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, October 14, 2011 from 11:00 A.M. until Service Time at 2:00 P.M. at McPeters Funeral Directors. Burial will be at Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Shuman was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Mr. and Mrs. Isreal J. and Bessie Swartsman Shuman. Mr. Shuman was a WWII veteran of the Navy. He was employed and retired from General Electric. Mr. Shuman was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was an avid senior golfer and he enjoyed watching sports.

Survivors include a brother, Harry Shuman of Peabody, Mass; daughter-in-law, Margaret Ross; 5 nephews, Taft Little, Thurston Little, Travis Little, Jerry Little, and Harold Little; 8 nieces, Rodel Treggiari, Barbara Katz, Glenda Moore, Peggy Wickersham, Lavonne Dean Essary, Mary Witthaver Patsy Gayle Haynie and Patricia Sbarbaro; special friends, Wayne & Gina Bumpas

Mr. Shuman is preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Little Shuman; his parents, Israel J., and Bessie Swartsman Shuman; 2 brothers, Joel Shuman and Paul Shuman; son, Billy G. Ross; granddaughter, Tammy Jean Ross; 3 nephews, Billy Little, Bobby Little and James Little

Pallbearers will be Leck Counce, Mike Wickersham, Sammy Alread, Kenny Carson, Chip Peterson, Jerry Hammet and Scotty Little

The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to Le Bonheur Childrens Hospital, 50 North Dunlap Street, Memphis, TN 38103.
