Winston C. Whitfield

Celebration of Life with Military Honors for Winston C. Whitfield 91, is set for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Roger Shock and Roy Cox officiating. Burial will be in the Forrest Memorial Park.

Winston died March 20, 2016 at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born January 7, 1925 in Corinth, MS. to the late Benjamin Toy and Sarah Bertha Whitfield; He served as CEO of Magnolia Regional Health Center from 1977 to 1993. Served in the US Navy, was a member of Rotary Club of Corinth, Curlee House, serving as a board member and Corinth Artist Guild.

Proceeded in death by the mother of his children Evagene Robinson Whitfield, his son Benjamin Calvin Whitfield; parents; brother Maury Whitfield and his wife Ann Jennings Whitfield.

He is survived by his wife Genida Hopson Whitfield; daughter Lynda Whitfield; son William W. Whitfield his wife Kandy; daughter-in-law Becky Whitfield; grandchildren Ashley (Brad) Davis, Benjamin Paul Whitfield, Sarah (Walton) Hickman, William W. Whitfield Jr.; great grandchildren Burtch, Hamlin, Lawson and Fischer Davis, Addie, Ward and Anne Miller Hickman; niece Jennie Whitfield (Jack) Hibbard and their daughter Jacqueline Hibbard; his blended family Robin (Ricky Holder) Hopson, Regina (Todd) Ricketts, Max (Sonya) Hopson Jr; grandchildren Brandon Ricketts, Lee Hopson, Seth Godwin, Steven Woodruff, Stephanie (Joe) Moore; great grandchildren Oliva Hopson, Addison Moore, McKinley Moore, Aspen Woodruff.
