Barbara Petepiece

Peacefully surrounded by family at the Cornwall hospice on August 11, 2023 at the age of 79 years. Beloved wife of David. Loving mother of Kathryn (Andrew Dion) and Michael. Cherished aunt/Mamma B to Laura Blanchard, Carolyn Lindsay (Joshua) and Easton & Joshua Robert Lindsay. Predeceased by her parents William and Olive (nee Gerrond) Blanchard, and by her brother and sister-in-law Gerald and Elizabeth Blanchard.

Barbara was a registered nurse for many years, primarily in pediatrics, before returning to school for a business diploma in mid-life and then working at Tri-County Literacy Council until her retirement. She volunteered in her church and community throughout her life. She loved travelling, reading, music and theatre, and spending days at the family cottage on the St. Lawrence River.

Her family would like to thank all of the healthcare professionals who cared for Barbara over the past several years. Special thanks to everyone at the hospice for the care and support in the last days of her life.

Cremation arrangements entrusted to M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street, Cornwall, Ontario, 613-938-1039. A private funeral service will be held at a later date.
