

Elizabeth (Betty) Catherine Chisholm, a devoted and cherished resident of St Andrews West, Ontario, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 93. Born September 25, 1932, Betty will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection by all who knew her.
Beloved wife of the late John Chisholm. Loving mother of Kenny Chisholm (Theresa) of St. Andrew's West, Ron Chisholm of Russell, Colleen Cracknell (Russell MacDonald) of Cornwall, Heather Hebert (Norm) of St. Andrew's West and Donna Forget (Jean) of Cornwall. Proud grandmother of Jordan (Shannon), Kayleigh (Krysta), Grant, Cameron (Lauren), Jonathan, Allyson (Elliot), Mylena (Stephane), Callie, Emily, Ella, Neve and great grandmother of Rowan. Survived by Brian McGee (Fay) and Bonnie Switzer (Bill). Predeceased by her parents Donald "Dan" MacCormick, Isabelle (née McLean) MacCormick, and her siblings John James, Allan (Helen), Donald Angus, Inez Kennedy (the late John Angus), Hugh (Gladys), Bernie (Mary), Ronnie, (Barbara).
Betty was a truly remarkable woman whose life was marked by strength, resilience, and unwavering love for her family. She faced life’s challenges with courage and perseverance, always putting others before herself. Generous, kind, and selfless, she was always ready to help those in need, and her quiet acts of love and compassion left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
Betty found great happiness in her years as an SDG librarian in St. Andrew’s and in her devoted involvement with the CWL. She also took great joy in cheering for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays, following her beloved teams with pride, loyalty, and enthusiasm through the years.
Betty will be especially remembered for her gift of storytelling and her love of visiting with others. She had a wonderful way of sharing memories that brought laughter, comfort, and connection, making everyone around her feel seen, valued, and loved. Her warmth, her gentle presence, and the countless stories she shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
Resting at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes West Branch from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 am on Saturday March 28, 2026. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday March 28, 2026 in St. Andrew’s Church at 11 a.m. Spring interment.
