He leaves behind his daughters Martina, Jacinta, Carmel and Briona along with 4 grandchildren, and brother Liam Monks and family, all of Ireland, and his sister and brother in law Carmel and Bob Griffin, of Ottawa.
Brian will be missed by his good friend Paul McNally (late Lise) and by the numerous friends he has made along his travels.
Affectionately known by many as “The Captain”, Brian started his career with the Royal Air force and found his way to Canada joining the Toronto Police Force.
Predeceased by his late wife Jeanne Nolan Sheils and his parents William and Eileen Sheils.
In keeping with Brian’s wishes cremation has taken place, and there will be no services.
