Sad news from Melba Street, having lost a wonderful long-time neighbour. I have many fond memories of growing up with Mark and Tim, and many Christmas Eves (among countless other gatherings) with The Branches. It was nice scrolling through those old photos, and seeing photos of Chumley, too! My deepest condolences, Ann, Mark and Tim, and to your extended families. He was a good man. 

It takes a neighbourhood to raise a child... so thanks for everything, "Mister Branch"!

I was employed at Laurencrest for a number of years.   Mr. Branch, faithful to his Board Meetings (luncheons were probably a big draw)  was always pleasant and personable.  

So enjoyed chatting with this "Gentleman".   Sympathies to his family.

The McAlear family knew Don shortly after his arrival in Cornwall. It is unfortunate our brother Hugh did not share this sad news, as we would have liked to attend the wake and funeral.

It was with considerable sadness that Donna and I learned of the passing of Don. When I first joined MSTA, Don was a principal of the company and a mentor to me. Don was a pleasant individual and always humourous. He loved his golf especially on Friday afternoons at Malone. My sincere sympathies to Ann and family.

Sincere condolences to Don's Family & Friends.  I remember Don as being a kind gentleman, always smiling, quiet in his demeanor & could tell a good joke!!!  He would come visit our Home on Dunkirk as he was a friend of my older Brother Hugh Mc Alear when they both worked for M.S Thompson Consulting Engineers wayyyyyyyy back in the day. I've known Don since I first attended Gadbois-Branch Hockey School in the 70's and I had the great opportunity to work for Don at MS Thompson/TRG for over 15 years.  Don taught me more about the engineering business than most other people and how to deal with people.   He knew how to manage in a way that encouraged you, but made sure the job got done.  His managing by walking around with coins in his pocket to make sure you knew he was coming was epic.  I will always remember Don fondly for  his business acumen, personality, leadership and generosity.  He also always spoke highly of both his sons and I can see by the photos he felt the same way about his grandsons.  He will be missed.

Our sympathies to Anne and the Branch family. We have many memories of our earlier years together at Domtar and Minor hockey in South Stormont.

Ann, Mark and Tim. Our deepest condolences. Don was a great friend and partner. We first met when he moved from Bathurst next door at his uncle Bob and aunt Gladys. Our early friendship started with our love for sports. He took me to meet his family in Bathurst and I soon learned where he got his great personality. After a few years apart he resurfaced in my life in the early 80s and convinced me to join him in developing the municipal engineering branch of MS Thompson. We spent the next 25 years working together and developing a very successful business. Don taught me a lot about life and how to treat people with love and respect. He will always be a part of my life. I miss you Don.

Our condolences.  Don always knew how to get where he was going.  He was a human GPS and his navigation sense was flawless.  He paid attention to the details surrounding him.  We shall miss our visits but embrace our memories.
