Eric Garfield Riviere

Beloved husband for 63 years of Sandra Riviere (nee Eamer). Cherished father of Steve (Lynn), Darin (Barbara) and Lori (Peter). Proud grandfather of Richard (Ashley), Melissa (Alex), Courtney (Sam), Andre (Lindsey), Sarah (Ryan), Brandon (Ashley), Michel, and Josée (Ryan). Adoring great-grandfather of Haylee, Alektra, Lennon, Nora, Anne-Mae, and Gracelyn. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews and by many good friends.

Son of the late Edward Riviere and Theresa Riviere (nee Brown). Predeceased by his 10 siblings Edward (Catherine), Beryl (Art), Shirley (Court), Keith (Iris), Muriel (Doug), Sterling (Grace), Audrey (Earl), Zilda (Terry), Larry (Dora), and Sharon (Gerry).

Eric worked for Domtar Fine Papers as a millwright for 37 years, was an avid member of the Cornwall Curling Club for over 40 years. Referee to minor football in his earlier years. He enjoyed skiing, golfing, traveling, and following the Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Maple Leafs and casinos.

His passing leaves a deep void, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

In keeping with Eric’s wishes cremation has taken place.

Visitation will take place Thursday, July 31st, at M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street, Cornwall, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Friday August 1st from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11 a.m., followed by interment at St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, 15570 County Rd 2, Ingleside.

As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Carefor Hospice Cornwall would be greatly appreciated by the family.
