CALDWELL, Gordon Joseph – Peacefully at Tsiionkwanonhsote Nursing Home on Thursday, February 20, 2014. Gordon Caldwell of 30 Seymour Road, Akwesasne, age 52, educated locally at the Cornwall Island Day School; Central Public and General Vanier Secondary School. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving 2 terms as a Lance Corporal. He held a variety of occupations such as; an engineer with Conrail, Security Guard in Cornwall and Ottawa and in construction for the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne. Dear son of the late James Caldwell and the late Irene (Oakes) Caldwell. Survived by Darrell, Jonathan (Sonny) (Sue), Richard (Janet), Iris (Adam Benedict), Charmaine all of Akwesasne and Judy of Kanesatake. Predeceased by one sister Dale. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lahaie and Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482). At his request, there will be no visitation, following cremation a Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday February 25, 2014 in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to the Tsiionkwanonhsote Activity Fund would be appreciated.
