Grace Robertson

Yes, this was our wonderful Mother that we were so blessed to have as our very own.

With Debbie and Dale by her side, Donalda Grace Robertson passed away peacefully, at the age of 89, on Monday November 24, 2025 at her home in Avonmore, Ontario.

Grace was the cherished wife of Gordon Douglas Robertson for 65 joyous years. She was the loving mother of Debbie Brownlee (Ken) and Dale Robertson (Joanne Sproul). Also a proud grandmother to Cassandra (Matt), Cole, and great grandmother to Finley.

Grace was the third of four children. Allan (late Patricia), Arthur (Marian) MacRae, and Marion (late Donnie) Thompson. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother Donalda MacRae (MacMillan), and her father Stewart MacRae.

Grace was born, raised and a proud life-long resident of Avonmore, Ontario. She lived a gentle, kind, prosperous and fulfilling life. Her smile never faded, she loved her family dearly, and her kindness and genuine concern for others warmed the hearts of everyone she met. Grace touched numerous lives, and shared special moments, creating many lifelong memories with extended family and friends.

A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Menon for going above and beyond in providing exceptional care to our mother. To Sarah Nuttall, of the Ontario Health at Home team, thank you for coordinating all necessary home care services. Our family is also deeply grateful to all the nurses and personal support workers for their compassion and care during this journey.

Grace’s legacy, of kindness and generosity, will live on forever. She will forever be our “Amazing Grace.”

The family will be in attendance at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN FUNERAL HOME, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West, Cornwall, Ontario on Saturday January 10, 2026 from 1:00 pm until commencement of the Celebration of Life in the memorial chapel of the funeral home at 3:00 pm. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family, immediately following the service, for a time of lunch and fellowship in the Reception Center of the Funeral Home. Spring interment, Paul’s Hill Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Avonmore, Ontario, or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
