Iris (Merpaw) Beaudette

Beloved wife of the late Charles “Chuck” Beaudette.

Loving mother of Brent Beaudette (Erin) and Jocelyn Beaudette (David Willis). Treasured grandmother of Cedar (Chris), Ariana (Kris), Kai (Breanna), Nathan, and Cole. Proud great-grandmother of Maya, Jude, and Kára. Dear sister of Carole Raymond (late John) and Ron Merpaw (Marsha). She will be missed by her Merpaw, Piche, Beaudette, Fobert, Villeneuve, and Legallais nieces and nephews, as well as her many cousins.

Predeceased by her parents James “Ira” and Guelda (née Heagle) Merpaw.

Iris was a good friend to many and her passing is deeply felt by those she cherished.

Iris will be remembered by the patients she cared for as a nurse at the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Cornwall. Iris brought knowledge, skill, and understanding to her role as a nurse. Being a nurse shaped her world view, dismantled assumptions and prejudices, and increased her capacity for compassion. She was forever grateful for how the experience formed her as a person.

The family will be in attendance at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home, 20 Seventh Street West, (613-932-8482) on Sunday, May 25, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Peter’s Parish, Cornwall, on Monday, May 26, 2025 at 11:00 am.

As expressions of sympathy, a donation to the Children’s Treatment Centre or Hospice Cornwall would be appreciated by the family.
