BABB, Lorne Everett – Died peacefully at Hospice Cornwall surrounded by his family, on Monday, November 10, 2014. Lorne Everett Babb of Cornwall at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Emily (Murphy) Babb. Dearest father of Lorna, Andrea, Vanessa (Greg) and David (Kim). Loving Poppy of Ashley, Nicholas, Olivia, Francis, Rowan, Ava, Ethan, Nick and Grand-Poppy of Ocean. Dear brother of Campbell and father in law of Pierre. Lorne will also be missed by his extended family and friends from Newfoundland, Alberta, Ontario and across the globe. Predeceased by his parents William and Louise (Campbell) Babb.
Lorne was born in Stratford, Ontario and grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in the early sixties and moved to Newfoundland where he met his wife of 49 years, Emily. Lorne’s professional career included Canadian Marconi, CFLCO, and Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro. In his spare time Lorne enjoyed many pursuits including travelling with his family, theatre and musicals, high-tech gadgets, and CBC radio and TV. In his retirement Lorne turned his passion for woodturning into Woodpecker Designs. He was a respected artist and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and skills with fellow woodworking enthusiasts.

A heartfelt thank you is extended to the incredible staff of Hospice Cornwall for their care and compassion.
