Lynda Brown

Brown, Lynda (Kishaqweb) - With her family by her side, at Cornwall Hospice on Tuesday September 19, 2023 at the age of 56 years. Beloved wife of Kevin Brisson. Cherished mother of Selena Ottertail-Brisson and Charley Ottertail-Brisson. Dear sister of John Campbell of Thunder Bay Ontario. Lynda will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and those that were blessed to know her.

Lynda is survived by many sister and brother in-laws: Debbie Brisson, Barbara Gale (Gary Gale), Susan Brisson, Gary Brisson, Linda Barcier (Peter Barcier) and the late Sharon Page. Lynda was loved by her family, friends and the community of Ahkwesashne.

Lynda received her teaching credentials from Nipissing University in 1999 and was an educator in her community of Sandy Lake, Ahkewesashne, and Eabametoong. Lynda moved from her community of Sandy Lake to become Principal in Ahkwesashne in 2006. Lynda embraced the community of Ahkwesashne and they embraced all of us. Lynda considered the community as her family.

Lynda would always put other people's needs before herself, on many occasions Lynda would organize, donate and prepare meals for feasts, funerals and the elderly in the neighbourhood.

Lynda you are one of a kind and will be truly missed by everyone that you have touched personally and professionally.

Friends may pay their respects at the M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street, Cornwall Ontario on Monday September 25 from 2-4pm and 6-9pm and Tuesday September 26 from 9am until time of Funeral Service in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 11am. Interment to follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
