It is with great sorrow that we announce that Patrick David Johnson age 45 of Cornwall Ontario, formerly Winnipeg Manitoba; passed away suddenly on September 5th 2017 at the Cornwall Community Hospital.
Remaining to forever cherish Patrick's memory are his mother, Christine Johnson(Roy), his beloved spouse Candice Dixon, 5 beautiful special children, Brianna, Ethan, Destiny, Dominik and Damian, his brother Roger Johnson as well as countless Aunts, Uncles and Cousins all of whom loved him dearly.
He is predeceased by his Father, Alvin Johnson, his maternal Grandparents Rene and Aline Roy as well as his paternal Grandparents, Byron and Elsie Johnson.
Patrick often looked back on his accomplishments in life; like when he graduated from St. Pauls Academy, when he joined the Royal Canadian Navy, when he completed the Air Traffic Control Certification and finished 2nd in his class, or his time spent being an amazing, honest and reliable sales man, leaving his home in Winnipeg to be with the woman he loved, to name a few all of which were not easy and had their own trials and tribulations but none the less he always looked back on those times and achievements in his life with such fond memories. All the adventures of his life and memories of adventure that he would use to tell the children as nightly bedtime stories, which will forever be treasured.
Growing up he was always eager to learn more about everything and carried that on into his adult life with his passion of science, astronomy and philosophy and had an artistic talent for drawing and writing. Because of his eagerness to learn Patrick was known for his intuition, intellect, sharp wit and charm, who always seemed to know something about everything and would share that knowledge whether you wanted it or not. Often referred as "The walking Google", everyone who knew him knew that he was the one to go for their questions.
He had a great sense of humor and was always happy and full of life. He was always kind and was generous when he could be but also had a great moral compass that enabled him to tell you that he didn't agree and would try to find better solutions. He always had a natural aptitude for befriending those in need, treating them with genuine respect and would sincerely enjoy learning their stories. He had a distinct way of instilling confidence and encouragement in everyone he talked to.
As a Father, he was strong, gentle, amazing, always accepting, always generous, always compassionate, forever loving and thrived in raising them and teaching them everything he knew. He was a great teacher to them and loved being able to pass all that knowledge he carried.
Patrick may be gone but he will never be forgotten and He will always be forever in our hearts.
Per his wishes a cremation and a celebration of his life occurred on September 10th 2017 in Cornwall Ontario. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
