Teach your children well.../And feed them on your dreams/The one they pick is the one they'll know by...
Teaching his children to be kind, compassionate and empathetic, and to work hard to follow their dreams with his unwavering support, RAYMOND MICHAUD (son of Edmond Michaud and Annie Doré), born in 1934 passed away on October 5, 2025.
Raymond was a loving husband to his wife of 66 years, Cecile (née Levac) Michaud. He was an amazing and gentle man, who was a wonderful father, funny, playful, affectionate and compassionate to his children, Carolyn, Louise, Pierre and Mona and a "kind and fun grandfather" who loved to joke with his grandchildren Emily and Micha.
He was a successful entrepreneur having established four businesses starting with his first one at 9 years old, selling greeting cards, newspapers and magazines door-to-door from his little wagon. This career success led him to have his dream of living on the island with his beloved wife.
An optimist who believed in going after one's dreams, Raymond had a fantastic sense of humour being the master of "Dad jokes" and witticisms and puns. He was a great card player (he especially enjoyed bridge and euchre) and golfer (with his three golfing buddies) and Raymond was also a star hockey player as a child and as an adult. He enjoyed gardening and loved flowers and nature in addition to animals, especially dogs.
A man of many talents, he also sang and played guitar, cutting records when he was a young man.
He will always be cherished by his wife, children and grandchildren, and his siblings, Josephine (Jake deceased), Wilfrid (Winnie), Annette (George deceased), Elaine (Howard deceased), Mae (Billy deceased), Lois (Brent) and Glen. Also, his deceased brothers Roger (Judy), Maurice (Martha), Wayne, and deceased sister Gwen (Marc) and by his family through marriage deceased sister-in-law Thérèse (Adolphe), Don (Ginette), deceased brother-in-law George (Cathy), Jacques (Donna), Mary Ann (Wayne deceased), and Gabe (Barb). He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Ronda (wife of Pierre) and multiple nieces and nephews.
Resting at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh St. West, (613-932-8482) on Tuesday October 14 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday October 15, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic church, 8 College Street, Ingleside, ON.
