Rita Beatrice Kerr

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rita Beatrice Kerr (Gagnier), of Long Sault, ON, who departed her earthly life on Tuesday the 6th of May 2025 at the age of 84. Rita was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Her hobbies included gardening, painting, knitting, crocheting, quilting, visiting her siblings, attending church and activities with dear friends. Our hearts are at peace knowing that on the day she was called home to be with the Lord, she was out enjoying life and doing what she loved.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Fred Kerr, to whom she was married for almost 50 years. While building a life together they had three children Debbie Poirier (late James Poirier), Tracey Villeneuve and Fred Kerr Jr. (Rachel).

By God’s grace, she will be missed by her brothers Gerald Gagnier (Yvonne), Ernest Gagnier (late wife Ruth), Louis Gagnier (Carrol); and her sisters Colombe Neville (late husband Marty), Clarisse Yates (William), Louise Gagnier (late husband Jean Yves) as well as her grandchildren Abigayle and Amelia (Fred) and Rene and Amanda (Tracey).

Predeceased by her parents Cyril Gagnier (Father), Laurette Leduc (Mother), Claude Gagnier (Brother) and Lucille Gagnier (Sister).

May Rita rest in peace in her eternal life. May comfort and hope surround those left behind as they celebrate her life of love, laughter and cherished memories. In keeping with Rita's wishes,

a private family service was held in her honor. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of Lahaie and Sullivan, Cornwall Funeral Home, West Branch, 20 Seventh St West. As expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Carefor Hospice Cornwall would be appreciated by the family.
