Robert Johnston

Loving husband of Theresa (nee Merpaw) Johnston of over 72 years.

Treasured father of Janet Newton (Scott), Kerry Newman (Allen), Wendy Killoran (Grenville) and Michael Johnston (Cindy).

Cherished grandfather of Adam Nisula (David Smith), Ashley Sloan (Patrick), Sarah Varrin (Jason), Kristy Rivette (Danny), Hannah O'Donnell (Chris), Ian Newman, Heather Newton, Jordan Carter (Nathan), and Eric Johnston.

He will be missed by his 16 great-grandchildren and his great-great-granddaughter.

Predeceased by his parents Nehemiah and Victoria (Pecore) Johnston, his daughter Laurie Anne Nisula (Steven) along with his siblings, Alex, Alan, Bessie, Rose, Pearl and Harvey and his great-grandson Hunter Varrin.

Dad had an over 30 year career at the Cornwall Fire Services where he was known as "Captain Bob". He enjoyed every day he worked there but more importantly, the people he worked with who he considered family. He was a fun-loving person who liked to joke, tease the grandchildren, enjoyed music playing his guitar and banjo, occasional drink, eating and most of all parties and having fun. His family was his pride and joy and he never got tired of babysitting and watching the family grow. He had many construction and building talents that were put to good use over the years by family and friends. He will be missed for his advice given whether it was wanted or not.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cornwall Royal Canadian Legion, 415 Second St. W. Cornwall Ontario, K6J 1H1, on May 7th, at 1:00 p.m.
