Robert James Service

SERVICE, Robert James (Jim) – passed away with his family by his side on July 4, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband of the late Betty Service (née Filion). Dad will always be fondly remembered and sadly missed by Wayne & Teresita Service, Donna & Dennis Appleton, Diana & Richard Boileau, Shelley & Alain Roy and Wendy & Craig Henry. Proud Grandpa of Karen, Claude, Derek, Devon, Marissa, Jessica, Daryl, James, Cassandra, Patrick and Stephanie. Cherished Great-grandpa of 26 great-grandchildren. Dear son of the late James & Agnes (née Swann) Service. Survived by his brothers Norman (Betty) and Lorne (Patricia). Predeceased by brothers, William, Carol and sister Elizabeth (Lila) Burns. He will be sadly missed by long time friends and extended family.

Jim worked his entire career as an electrician for Howard Smith/Domtar, and was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN, CORNWALL FUNERAL HOMES, WEST BRANCH, 20 Seventh St West (613-932-8482). An urn committal will take place on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery.
