Sherwin Thelma (Gates) Marsolais

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Sherwin Thelma Marsolais (neé Gates), at the Cornwall Community Hospital, with family by her side on Thursday August 14th, 2025, at the age of 83 years.

She is rejoined with her beloved husband Francis Marsolais. Cherished mother of Terry Waldrif (Robert), Tammy Marsolais, Harry Marsolais (Tara), and Vicky Marsolais. Dear sister of Gail Moise (Gerry). Daughter of late Eartley Gates and Vesta Froats. Predeceased by her daughters Mona Roy and Heather Marsolais, her brothers Clayton and Harry Gates, and her sisters Shirley, Kathleen, Alda, and Eileen. Dearly missed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her extended family and friends.

Sherwin was a proud and dedicated member of the Cornwall Legion Branch #297 Ladies' Auxiliary, where she volunteered her time in support of veterans and the local community. She touched the lives of many and will be remembered with love. We will hold her close in our hearts forever.

The family will be in attendance at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482) on Monday August 25th, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Tuesday August 26th from 9 a.m. until the time of service. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 26th, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow at Notre-Dame Cemetery.
