Dear,Tina, Jaime & Chad,

Please accept our deepest sympathy for the loss of your beloved Mom.  It was a shock to find out about her passing.   We knew you three as young children, Suzy was my cousin  & your Dad worked & played hockey with Jean-Guy.   They met at our house during a card game & the rest is history.  We had great times as young cousins during our younger days,  the best of times visiting Aunt Vi  & Uncle Oscar.  Always treasure the best memories of them & be thankful for all they gave you.  Remember. ..Parenting doesn't come with a manual. ..We all "wing it" .

We wander around with a dream: That people will always be there; lots of time to tell them what they meant to us and our lives. 
Suzanne was amazing; one girl my age, among all you boy cousins by the dozens; her own person all the way – like you, Maurice – with unique perspectives on life. A lot of Suzanne’s aura has set a stamp on me, even if it took years to understand. 
I remembered getting a hernia at 5 years old, because I followed you guys jumping off Aunt Jean’s veranda again and again. For all the sense THAT took. What I picked up from Suzanne: you can’t beat them, but you have to join them if you want to have fun and be seen at all, city kid. 
At a couple of years younger, I was almost beneath Suzanne’s notice in those days. She handled her intimidating older brothers admirably and worked harder than any kid I knew, helping at home, and eventually at her sister Margie’s (young Margie always looked like a grown-up to us kids). 
Maurice will remember that we spent a lot of time swimming down at Marjorie’s place – walking there in oppressive heat – even though the Wharf was a lot closer. Suzanne was always happy to be there with Tammy and Linda and I tagged along like white-on-rice. 
At Mamère's compound, I'd run to Aunt Vi's all day long to be around Suzanne, until Vi would get fed up and throw me out. Vi and Oscar didn't need another noisy kid and I ate like a seagull. The family's cozy warmth and the world’s best TV drew me like a magnet. Our whole world gathered there in 1957 to watch Elvis on the Ed Sullivan Show.
Our mom moved around often with various jobs, so cousins were the only friends until grade 6. Even if we lived so far away – farther and farther over past years – Suzanne will always be in my heart as my first, best friend. 
I’ve often reminded Maurice, as well as my own sister and daughter: being a Laframboise is the best thing about us. Suzanne helped to define that for me. 
Rest in peace, dear cousin…

Dearest, Jamie, Tina and Chad.  I'm a long lost cousin who rarely got to see your mom.  I do believe though as a kid I was at Suzanne and Dan's wedding.  In those days we often traveled from Toronto to the cousins weddings.   I remember her warm caring sprit when I did see her the odd time at my mom's house  (Aunt Frances) on Bethune.  I just love the photo you chose of her, it really embodies the cousin I remember.  I'm truly sorry she was taken from you so soon.
