

Peacefully with his family by his side, at home on August 9, 2016. Mr. Wilfred Kaneb of Cornwall; age 96 years. Beloved husband of the late Mayford (Rintoul). Loving father of Mark Kaneb (Julie), Frederick Kaneb (Lauri), Stephanie Kaneb and Vanessa Kaneb. Cherished grandfather of Jeremy (Leona), Michelle, Jessika, Nikolas, Tia (Sean), Jenna (Marc), Chris and Ashley (Rob), and great-grandfather of Ethan, Owen, Claire, Jake, Evan, Aiden and Emma. Loving brother of Edward, Victor and Marilyn Kaneb. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Agey (Kalil) Kaneb, by brothers Nick and George and by sister Lorraine Gathman.
Fred attended CCVS in Cornwall and MIT University in Boston where he was a graduate in the Class of ’43. Fred invented the Dilbert Dunker while enlisted in the US NAVY (NAS). At the end of the Second World War he returned to Cornwall and founded Parisian Beverages, Foam Form Canada Inc., and Fiberez. Fred was a Past President of Metropolitan Petroleum Inc., located in Montreal, and founded OLCO Petroleum. We would like to thank his care girls & the boys Henry, Larry & Murray. His orchards will miss him.
Resting at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN CORNWALL FUNERAL HOMES, WEST BRANCH, 20 Seventh Street West, Cornwall from 5 pm Sunday. Funeral is Monday, August 15, 2016 in Trinity Anglican Church for Service at 11 am. Interment, Salem United Church Cemetery. The family will be in attendance from 5 pm to 8 pm Sunday and Monday from 9:30 am until the time of the Funeral. As expressions of Sympathy Memorial Donations to Cornwall Hospice or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
