Alberteen was born on March 25, 1933, in Parsons, Kansas to Albert and Lonnie Mae Ware, the fifth of seven children. She came to know Jesus Christ at age 12.
She met Samuel Nathan Lambert while attending Boston University. After graduation, she served as a Christian missionary through the Methodist Church in Angola between the years of 1957 - 1960. She later returned to visit Angola in 2004 and 2012.
Alberteen married Samuel Lambert on August 25, 1960 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Shortly after they married, the couple moved to Los Angeles, California where they raised twin boys, Bryan and Bruce, born in 1961. Her primary career was with the Los Angeles County Probation Department where she was blessed to work with many different types of people including, but not limited to, young women. She worked as a probation officer, family counselor and supervisor. Her career spanned nearly 30 years. In her retirement years, she enjoyed attending various Bible studies, traveling abroad, and spending time with her family and friends.
Throughout the decades, she was very involved with Methodist, Lutheran, Messianic Jewish and non-denominational Christian churches. All of these organizations were very close to her heart. At the end of her life, she wanted every one of her friends and family to know that she was very excited about going home to be with the Lord.
Alberteen was predeceased by Samuel, in 1996, and by her parents and one sister, Bertha Turner. She is survived by her sons, Bruce and Bryan, her daughter in law, Chessy, her grandchildren, Josh and Jolie, her daughter in love, Andrea Clarke, and her granddaughter in love, Briana Clarke. She is also survived by her brothers, Mack Ware and Lonnie Ware and her sisters, Joyce Smith, Vessie Nichols and Virginia Fulton.
Teena was dearly loved by all her family and friends. While we are saddened she is no longer with us, we are celebrating she is at peace in heaven with the Lord. She will always be remembered for her amazingly, strong Christian faith that touched many lives. She had a heart full of love and compassion. Her words were always filled with wisdom and insight.
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13
