January 18, 1957January 8, 2019

On Tuesday, January 8, 2019, Alice Kyungmi Ghim, went to be with the Lord at the age of 61.

Alice was born on January 18, 1957 in Busan, South Korea. In 1974, Alice and her family immigrated to Los Angeles, CA. Alice graduated from Belmont High School in 1977. Alice attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she received a bachelor’s degree in design in 1981. Alice married and raised two children, Caroline and David. In January 2013, Alice married Manny Barrios.

Alice had various passions and hobbies throughout her life. She especially enjoyed hiking, traveling, and dancing! Alice loved interacting with people and always saw the good in them. Alice’s passion for people led her to work as an educator, where she spent over 10 years teaching ESL for the Rancho Santiago Community College District. Alice was known for her spunky attitude, her quirky humor, and her loving spirit.

Alice is survived by: her husband, Manny; her father, Yong Min Kim; mother, Sook Won Kim; four siblings: Kyung Hee Ko, Min Sook Lee, Yun Hee Yoo, Tae Soo Kim; nieces and nephews; her children, Caroline and David; and grandson, Parker.

Although we will miss her presence here with us, we have peace and joy in knowing that she is in true rest (shabbat) - home at last with the Lord. May we hold fast to the continued hope we have in Christ, looking forward to the day that we would join Alice in His glory.
