We mourn the loss of our dear friend Andrea Morris who passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019. Andrea was born October 31, 1967 in Los Angeles and lived in Panorama City, Venice and in Koreatown. She studied at Santa Monica College and worked in the Travel industry for over 20 years, troubleshooting travelers’ mishaps as a Consultant. She is predeceased by her parents, Sheldon Morris (1999), Joyce (2001) and cousin Ruth Ellen Marmorstein (2004). Andrea is survived by her uncle George Morris of Los Angeles. and cousins, Rabbi Daniel, Amy, and Michael Marmorstein of Florida and their families and Stan Lederman of San Diego. Deborah Marmorstein Richman (9/13/19), her cousin and frequent Facebook respondent, passed away just days earlier and Andrea would want her and her family acknowledged. A voracious reader and astute social critic, Andrea could out-argue William F. Buckley and should have. For years she kept three Facebook accounts, posting choice excerpts from Daily Beast, NYTimes, Vanity Fair, Daily Kos, The New Yorker and other current fact-based sources. She was our “breaking news”. We will miss her sweet, sharp but gentle cynicism. She leaves devoted friends from her science fiction and literary groups with good memories and deep affection. There will be a gathering to remember her life to be announced on her Facebook page and notices of time and place on the Facebook page of Nola Frame-Gray. Donations in her name can be made to progressive political candidates of your choice.
