Ann Margaret O’Connell, age 80 of Corona del Mar, CA passed away in company of the family she loved on Wednesday, October 17, 2019 after a short illness. Ann was born on January 23, 1939 in Worchester, MA. Ann was the oldest of three children of Fran and Agnes Marandett. Ann graduated from St. Stephen’s High in Worchester, MA and attended Worchester Technical College for two years before meeting the love of life, Jack O’Connell. They were married on May 3, 1958 in Westboro Ma and over the next nine years, Ann and Jack had four boys together, John Jr., Matt, Tom and Jim. Ann spent the rest of her life lovingly dedicated to her family.
Ann was married to Jack for over 41 years until his death in 1999. During their marriage, they not only raised a wonderful family but traveling the world together-riding camels in Egypt, visiting the Hermitage in St Petersburg, walking along the Great Wall in China and snorkeling together at the Great Barrier reef.
Despite the travel and adventures, Ann greatest joy was spending time with her family. Her happiest times were in the company of her children, grandchildren and their friends at her home in Corona del Mar. She always made sure that her house was open to all and filled with love and acceptance.
Ann is survived by her brother Paul and sister-in-law Nancy; her sons John and his wife Dawn, Matt and his wife Ana, Tom and his wife Tracey and her daughter- in-law Amy and her husband John. She is also survived by nine incredible grandchildren, Daniel, Patrick, Catalina, Micaela, Aidan, Matthew, Ellie, Meghan and Jack.
All of us were so blessed to have had Ann in our lives.
