Antoinette "Toni" Marie D'Argento Passaglia

Antoinette Marie Passaglia, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished sister, passed away after a life filled with family, love, and memories that will remain with those who knew her. Antoinette was born on August 29, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, to Joseph D'Argento and Anna Sammarco. She grew up on Chicago's Northwest Side with her identical twin sister, Marie Louise, and her brother, Donald. Her early years in Chicago helped shape the strong family values and close relationships that would remain important throughout her life.

She attended Notre Dame High School for Girls and later began her working life as a secretary with the Illinois Executive Employment and Escrow Division of Chicago Title and Trust. In August 1961, she married Richard D. Passaglia, the man who would be her husband, partner, and companion for more than six decades.

Together, Antoinette and Richard built a family and raised three children, Paul, Dean, and Leanne. Their life together took them on a remarkable journey. While living in Saginaw, Michigan, Antoinette continued her education at Delta College and Saginaw Valley College. When Richard's career took the family to the Netherlands, Antoinette embraced the experience of raising her family far from home where the children all graduated from The American School of the Hague. Later job assignments took them to Arizona and California, eventually leading them to settle in beautiful Corona del Mar, where Antoinette and Richard retired. Through all of the moves and changes in their lives, family was always at the heart of Antoinette's world. She was happiest surrounded by the people she loved and took great pride in watching her children and grandchildren grow. Her family continued to expand through the years, bringing her the joy of becoming a grandmother and a great-grandmother.

In 2023, Antoinette suffered a stroke that changed the course of her life and eventually required them to move into assisted living and then extended care. Even as circumstances became more difficult, she remained deeply loved by her family. They carried with them the memories of the years they had shared—the family gatherings, the journeys, the everyday moments, and the countless ways she had impacted their lives.

Antoinette is survived by her beloved husband, Richard; her children, Paul, Dean and his wife Marie Forgette Passaglia, and Leanne and her husband Gary Cohen; and her grandchildren, Mia and Tori Lynn Passaglia, Rebecca and Josh Bray, Megan and Sean Long, Nicholas Passaglia and Maiah, Brandon Cohen and Andrea , and Kiefer Cohen. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Emily, Michael, and Khloe Bray; Dewayne and Donovan Long; and Aurelio Passaglia. Sister Marie Louise Lukowitz (Jerry), brother Donald D'Argento and wife Marian, Donald and Marcia Passaglia, and all her nieces and nephews along with countless friends. Antoinette's life was a journey but, wherever life took her, home was wherever her family was. Wherever she went her motto was “I have a lot of friends there, I just haven't met them yet”!

Her family will remember Antoinette not simply for the places she lived , but for the place she held in their hearts. She was the center of a family that grew across generations, and the love she gave will continue through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever a part of the family she cherished.
