April 8, 1949 – July 19, 2022
Boone Fan was born in Guangdong, China to Yoke King Fan and Hop Tai Fan (Lau). He immigrated to the United States at the age of 11 where he grew up in Westminster, CA. An accomplished engineer and business owner, he graduated from CSU Long Beach with a degree in electrical engineering before pursuing careers in aerospace engineering at McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) and later in real estate investing.
Though known for his industrious and diligent work ethic, Boone also made time to enjoy his treasured hobbies. He loved to travel both in his youth and in his retirement – his lifetime passport boasted trips across the European continent and throughout Asia. His passion for food too was unrivaled; though his travels and his food adventures, he fancied himself a contemporary of Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern. Lastly, as a season ticket holder for both the Angels and Ducks, he spent many great nights cheering on his teams with friends and family.
Boone is survived by his wife Sabrina, sons Colin and Nathan, daughter-in-law Faimie, and granddaughter Lennon.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorials be made in Boone’s honor to his long supported organizations: Planned Parenthood, ACLU, Doctors without Borders, and UNICEF.
However, if flowers are sent, the family kindly requests that they be sent to Pacific View Memorial (3500 Pacific View Dr, Corona Del Mar, CA 92625) on Friday, August 26.
