It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brandon Gregory Friend, 39, of Irvine CA. Brandon passed away unexpectedly on January 18, 2025, leaving a profound impact on all who knew him. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Seda (Terzyan) Friend and 2-year-old daughter, Vera Maria Friend. He is also survived by his parents (Debera Friend, Gregory Friend), three sisters (Brittany Friend, Courtney Redington, Ashley Friend), grandmother (Helene Lumary), and a host of friends to whom he was family.
Brandon was a serial entrepreneur, engineer, and musician. He possessed the ability to turn everything he touched to gold. He graduated from the University of California, Irvine, with a Master of Science in Pure Mathematics. He had many business ventures with his long standing partners and friends. Brandon loved his work and was a master negotiator. No one could hold and consider so much complex information, while making calculated decisions. Brandon had infectious energy that brightened any room he entered, and his loyalty and warmth made him cherished by many. Those closest to him admired his generosity and unwavering support of loved ones, through thick and thin. He loved hard, and committed even harder. Brandon is irreplaceable in every way and his loss is felt by so many.
Brandon was passionate about living life to the fullest. Everything Brandon did, he mastered. Most things he taught himself through ardent commitment and unwavering dedication. Brandon never just skimmed the surface on anything, he knew it to its depths. He was a proficient electric guitarist (though he would only describe himself as dabbling). He loved metal music, fast cars, and amazing food. He was an avid and self-taught chef and he loved cooking for his little family every day.
His greatest pride and joy was his daughter, whom he treasured dearly. He also loved his two cats, Zelda and Fury. He loved his weekend brunches and adventures with his wife and baby girl. He also loved teaching Vera new things and taking her on bike rides to the park. He always wanted a baby girl. When he had her, he said he would train her to rule the world. She will rule the world, because her father is in her and always will be.
A celebration of life will be held at Pacific View Memorial Park on February 7th at 2:00pm, with a reception to follow services. Friends and family are invited to gather to remember the incredible person he was. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Brandon, please consider donations to Vera’s college fund to help secure her education. Please see QR Code below to donate.
The family kindly requests that you wear business casual attire with colors, preferably no black to celebrate Brandon's life.
