I met Gene at one of the saddest moments in my life, just after my brother was lost at sea after the Fish-n-Fool capsized in 1987. His calm demeanor and.sympathetic spirit provided me with the support I needed to go through the aftermath of that tragedy. I grew to love Gene for his wit, wisdom and charm.  I will always remember him with genuine affection.

I have great memories of Mr. Russell. It was an honor to be around him growing up. My heart goes out to all the family.

Dear family.  It seems only yesterday that I participated in Gene and Pat's wedding as a little girl as well as all the other wonderful memories I have growing up with Gene in my life.  He was always so fun and filled with joy and encouragement.  Gene was more like an older brother rather than my cousin.  He was loved by all of us and will be so missed.  You will all be in our hearts and prayers.

Dear Russell family.  I have many fond memories of my Cousin Gene, his brother Jack, Aunt Gladys and Uncle Carl from our many trips to the area when I was growing up.  I admired Gene greatly as a fellow attorney and often bragged to other lawyers about his practice and longevity in court.  Our family is keeping you in our prayers during this time of grief.

We recall many pleasent visits to you and Gene at your home in Costa Mesa when we would travel to CA to visit my Aunt Norma who, at the time, lived in Seal Beach just down the road from you. We were especially gratefull for Gene helping Aunt Norma with legal problems.
