Catherine (or Julia) lived a full and blessed life. She loved her family, loved to travel and loved the Lord Jesus. Julia married the love of her life, Richard Gale Jackson, on June 21, 1952 and within two years had her first child, David, followed by her second child, Carol, two years later. Since both Julia and her husband were employed within the school system, it allowed for them to take many family vacations as the children grew. Most vacations involved camping at various places. Yosemite was always a favorite.
In 1973, Julia accepted Christ into her heart which made a huge difference in her life. She began attending church on a regular basis, became involved in a marriage ministry, as well as a women’s ministry. Julia and her husband had the privilege of traveling to Israel with their church in 1978 which was another life-changing experience as the Bible became alive since she visited many of the places where Jesus ministered.
Julia’s husband, Richard, passed away in 1987 leaving a huge void in her life. However, her love for travel was something she was able to continue and she visited many and various countries over the next 30 years. In 1989, her first grandson was born, Joel, and in 1991, her second grandson came along, Taylor. Both boys were the light of her life!
Julia is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, John and Jackie Tarpley (Longmont, CO) - son, David Jackson (Brea, CA) – daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Marc Stanton (Fountain Valley, CA) – grandson, Joel Stanton (Newport Beach, CA) – grandson, Taylor Stanton (Costa Mesa, CA).
Memorial service will be held at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa Fellowship Hall on December 19, 2018 at 11:00 am.
