Christopher Robin Williams loving husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully in Newport Beach on July 12, 2016 at the age of 76. Chris is survived by his dear wife of 51 years Mary Elizabeth, his children Darren (and Jenny) and grandchildren Payton and Sloane in Corona Del Mar and Samantha (and Scott) and grandchildren William and Charlyse in Napa.
Chris was born in East Horsley, England on March 9, 1940 - the same day as his father. Chris met Mary at Butlins Holiday Camp in Ayre, Scotland and his relentless pursuit paid off when she finally agreed to marry him on August 28, 1965. They enjoyed many adventures together living in the United Kingdom, emigrating to Canada in 1970 and then to the USA in 1988, proudly carrying three passports. From his early days, Chris was always an avid sportsman. He played on every team offered at Ottershaw School. In fact, the only sport he loathed was the cross country running required during the winter months. His athletic pursuits continued throughout his life with touch football, skiing and soccer in Toronto and Montreal, as assistant coach to Samantha's soccer team, and trips across the western US to mountain bike and fish with Darren and Sam. Sports and physical activity remained central to his life as long as he was capable. In fact, he tried his hand at snowboarding for the first time at the ripe old age of 60! Chris also enjoyed gardening in his yard and at his vegetable patch at the Oasis Senior Center and built several elaborate water features. Professionally Chris enjoyed a long, successful career in the insurance broking industry in London, Toronto, Montreal, San Francisco, New York, Houston and Newport Beach.
Services to be officiated by son-in-law Scott Lloyd are scheduled for Friday, July 22 at 2:00 PM at Pacific View Memorial in Corona Del Mar with a reception to follow at Canaletto Ristorante Veneto, Fashion Island, Newport Beach.
