

Colby Stanford Walters died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the age of 26. He was born to Stacy Simondi and Brian Walters in Bakersfield, California on September 27, 1991. Colby graduated from Laguna Beach High School in June 2010. He was the older brother of Kassy Walters, with whom he shared frequent trips to Catalina – some of which were solo trips from Newport Beach to Avalon on a jet ski- and family excursions to Mammoth Mountain where he learned to ski and snowboard. He also loved off-roading with his rock crawler, camping and motorcycle riding, including a dream trip to The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and frequent rides with his motorcycle club.
After graduation from high school, Colby attended Landmark College in Putney, Vermont for one year after which he attended Arizona State University where he studied elementary and special education and early childhood development. Colby was a Co-Teacher at the Autism Academy for Education and Development, Arizona Autism Charter Schools and the Arizona Centers for Comprehensive Education and Life Skills. For one of his summer breaks from ASU, Colby accompanied and supervised an autistic teenage boy who was learning life skills at the Mission of the Immaculate Conception located in Kibeho, Rwanda, Africa. He had a passion for working with children with special needs and found this experience very rewarding
Colby made a great first impression. His genuine personality had a way to make everyone feel very comfortable. Colby was a very kind person who was always ready to be your friend and help you any way possible. He had a playful sense of humor and was always looking for ways to make you laugh.
Colby is survived by his mother, father, step-father, Michael Simondi, sister, maternal grandmother, Linda Reed, paternal grandmother, Margaret Walters, uncle, Brandon Walters, aunt, Sherrie Morrison and the light of his life, his dog, Gunner.
Colby’s family and friends will never forget his genuine and unbridled spirit, loyalty and love. Colby’s loved ones are invited to join a Celebration of Life Services to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Pacific View Memorial Chapel, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar, California. The Service will be followed by a gathering at Colby’s Laguna Beach home. A viewing will be held at Pacific View Memorial Chapel on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. At the time of his death, Colby resided in Bakersfield, California where he attended The Bridge Bible Church and was involved in the youth ministries.
