Colleen Laverne Reid

She was born October 29, 1929, in Liberty County, Texas, a daughter of the late Wylie Letcher Moore and Annie Lea Rose Moore.

Colleen was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ivan Robert Reid, Jr.; son, Royal V. Johnson; daughter, Jatis Colleen Johnson; brother, Jesse Letcher Moore; and sister, Mary Lea Knight.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Capistrano Beach. During her life she worked as a teletype operator and terminal clerk for Rose Transportation and Reid Hot Shot, kindergarten teacher and a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed a job well done, an honest day's work, and spending time with her family and friends.

Colleen is survived by her daughters-in-law Rhonda Johnson and Linda Reid; two grandchildren, Jacob Johnson and Matthew Reid; nephews, Gary Moore, Jess Moore, Jay Knight and Jesse Knight; nieces Jana Rose Meeks, Jan Knight, Jenna Knight Woolsey and Patricia Moore. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will miss her greatly.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar. Pallbearers John Jonas, Jay Knight, Gary Moore, Jacob Johnson, Jesse Knight and Jimmy Pruett.
